A BIG MODEL SUB

Here you can see the water tight compartment being tested in the bath. In the large section, the reciever, 7.2v power supply, APC-3, speed controllor(electronize 30amp), Pittman drive motors and battery level indicator which changes slowly from green to red as the battery discharges, are all housed in a 110mm dia tube.It also houses the rudder and stern plane servo's. The middle section is the ballast tank complete with blow valve at the side of the tank. The hole in the middle is for the pressure vessel which is filled with liquid air. The small compartment houses the servo's for the bow planes, blow and vent valves and torpedo launch. These are joined by two brass tubes which also house the servo wires and reciever aerial. The brass tubes can be seen running through the ballast tank. The tank can then be moved back and forth along the tubes for minor trim adjustment on set up.
