A BIG MODEL SUB

Well the day has come and she is getting her first workout. With butterflies in the tum tum, I put it in the water with all systems go. She cruised at a great speed(above scale speed)and had a pretty good turning circle too. Time to dive her down. Vented the tank and with in 3m,the tank was fully vented.Full dow on the bow planes was required at first followed by minor adjustments to get her to cruise at periscope depth. Beautifull!.Bear in mind this is not only the first sub I have ever built,it is also the first sub I have ever driven. After a few runs I had her doing scale dives and surfacing every time. Now it was time to test the fail safe system. I took her down to about 2m and cringed as I turned off the radio transmitter. She shot to the surface after 3 seconds with the throttle at quarter speed and bow planes turned up and ballast blowing.COOL!!. I think it was a success.
